Make a Puppet Theater for Christmas

During the Christmas holidays, the little ones will be delighted to make this magnificent puppet theater with you. They can then create characters from images cut out of wrapping paper (princess, animals, and others) then stuck onto cardboard.

The material:

A large cardboard box, some gouache paint, and a few scraps of fabric will be all you need to create a home theater. Scissors or a craft knife and paper glue are all you need.

Production:

Cut a rectangle or square out of one side of the box so that the colorful decoration that will be applied inside can be seen. To fit the puppets through, you will also need a square cut out of each of the other two sides. The pieces of fabric will be used to form two curtain panels on either side of the cut-out "window." They can be attached with paper glue if the fabric is lightweight.

Feel free to ask children to paint pretty colors on the outer cardboard. They can also decorate with glitter, buttons, stars, and self-adhesive stickers.

The background of the decor:

Inside the box, children can have fun painting a landscape or gluing pictures cut out from magazines.

The puppets:

They can be cut out of thinner cardboard and then colored by the children. Wool socks or gloves also make a great base for making homemade puppets. All that's left to do is decorate them to give them features and hair (pieces of wool yarn, small buttons for eyes, etc.).
