Christmas Tale: Little Louis-Pierre's Version
Le lendemain de Christmas, le petit Louis-Pierre âgé de 5 ans, admirait ses nouveaux jeux lorsqu’il leva la tête et dit soudainement à sa grand-mère :
-“Hey Grandma, do you want me to tell you something special?”
.-“Yes, darling, I’m listening.”
-« J’étais allé dormir, car le Santa Claus devait passer m’apporter mes cadeaux, quand j’ai entendu du bruit en bas, dans le salon. Je suis descendu sur le bout des pieds et c’est alors que je l’ai vu… »
-“Who did you see, Louis-Pierre?”
-“Well, HIM, with his red suit and his white beard, his black boots and everything…”
-“Have you seen Santa Claus?”
- "Yes, yes, Grandma! When he saw me out of the corner of his eye, he put a finger to his mouth and said, "Don't be afraid, it's Papa. Don't make any noise, so you don't wake your sisters."
- "And what did you do?"
- "Well, I was so surprised to see Santa Claus in front of me that I couldn't answer him. So he blew me a kiss from afar, like Dad does, but it looked funny with his white gloves."
- "And then..."
- "I went back up to my room and held my teddy bear against me. Do you know what I said to him, Grandma?
- "And what did you tell him?"
- "Don't worry, Titou, it's just Santa Claus pretending to be Dad so we don't recognize him..."
– “Why are you laughing, Grandma?”
