Christmas Markets in Europe – 9. Tivoli
Le seul marché de Christmas européen à prendre place dans un parc d’attractions est sans contredit celui de Tivoli à Copenhague.
The beautiful gardens of Tivoli Park host a festival every year Christmas market considered the most beautiful in the Danish capital. From November 12 to December 30, 2010, visitors can wander through the alleys of the "village" made up of many small decorated chalets offering mainly artisanal and local products. The pedestrian path is lined with fir trees (1,200 are planned for this 2010 edition) and then decorated with eight kilometers of light garlands, nearly 110,000 bulbs, and a farandole of Venetian lamps. A magical atmosphere guaranteed!
The attraction of the place remains the magnificent carousel, more than 150 years old, one of the oldest of its kind in the world. During this holiday season, four additional rides, including a new one since 2008, and an ice rink are installed in the park for the enjoyment of all.
Le Marché de Tivoli, avec ses 70 échoppes proposant des spécialités artisanales et culinaires, ainsi qu’un large éventail de décorations de Noël de toutes sortes, est l’endroit idéal pour dénicher un gift original.
However, admission to the park and its Christmas Market is not free. It costs around €12 for an adult and €6 for a child.
Several airlines (e.g. Easyjet, Air France, Norwegian Air) fly from Paris to Copenhagen, starting from around €80.
