Christmas Markets in Europe 7. Metz
The inauguration of Place de la République, Metz's emblematic square, which has recently become pedestrianized, is scheduled for November 20th, the date that heralds the start of Christmas festivities in Metz.
For 15 years, the capital of the Lorraine region has been part of the tradition of the large, popular Christmas markets of eastern France. More than 90 chalets offer local products and a wide range of handcrafted items, catering to all tastes, not to mention mulled wine, one of the market's winter traditions.
Tourist attractions : the largest Ferris wheel in Europe, the giant ice rink, the magic tree and a magnificent carousel of wooden horses.
