Traditionally, the Nativity is celebrated on December 25th. However, this date is not official, since nowhere in the Gospels is the date of Jesus' birth specified. However, according to history, the date of December 25th was fixed in the 4th century, probably in 354, but there is no tangible evidence to support this.<\/p>\n

Unlike Christians today, the Nativity was not celebrated by the first Christians. It took three and a half centuries for Christmas to take on a religious character, and then another two centuries for it to be celebrated throughout the world. <\/p>\n

The secularization of society and cultural exchanges have led to Christmas festivities gradually losing their religious aspect over the years, taking on a secular character. For some, Christmas has thus become a pagan festival, during which families gather, share hearty meals, and exchange gifts. <\/p>\n

Increasingly commercialized, Christmas is now celebrated by believers and non-believers alike. In many Western countries, this holiday is primarily associated with the figure of Santa Claus. And while many people attend midnight mass, few attend in memory of the birth of Jesus. This tradition has given way to masses celebrated earlier in the late afternoon or early evening. Although Christmas is a Christian celebration celebrating the birth of the baby Jesus, it was originally intended to be a pagan celebration. In those early days, the festival took various forms, marking the rebirth of the unconquered sun, or winter solstice, as well as the Roman Saturnalia, both of which took place on December
