May s\u2019\u00e9tait alors vu confier la t\u00e2che de cr\u00e9er un livre, et c\u2019est ainsi qu\u2019est n\u00e9 le personnage de Rudolph. Au cours de la premi\u00e8re ann\u00e9e de publication, 2,4 millions d\u2019exemplaires de ce livre ont \u00e9t\u00e9 distribu\u00e9s par Montgomery Ward.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In 1949, Johnny Marks, brother-in-law of radio producer and Christmas caroler Robert L. May, decided to adapt the story into a song. Nevertheless, it still sold 2.5 million copies in its first year. Subsequent sales of this version reached 25 million, and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer remained the second best-selling album until the 1980s.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The song was translated into French by Jacques Larue under the title &quot;Le petit reindeer with a red nose&quot;, and the \u00c9tienne Sisters were the first to perform it in 1951.
