Davis. \u00c0 l\u2019origine, il portait le titre de Carol of the Drum, et \u00e9tait destin\u00e9 \u00e0 une chorale amateur, constitu\u00e9e uniquement de jeunes filles. Enregistr\u00e9e pour la toute premi\u00e8re fois en 1955 par The Trapp Family Singers, il aura toutefois fallu attendre la version de la Chorale Harry Simeone produite en 1958, pour que la chanson connaisse enfin un certain succ\u00e8s. <\/p>\n<p>The Little Drummer Boy se veut d\u2019origine chr\u00e9tienne, et les paroles contenues dans la chanson en constituent d\u2019ailleurs la preuve. Elles racontent effectivement l\u2019histoire d\u2019un jeune gar\u00e7on, issu d\u2019un milieu d\u00e9favoris\u00e9, convoqu\u00e9 par les mages \u00e0 se rendre au berceau de J\u00e9sus, au jour de la Nativit\u00e9. Ne pouvant offrir de <a href=\"https:\/\/www.blognoel.com\/en\/christmas-gifts\/\">gift<\/a>, il  a jou\u00e9 de son tambour tout au long de son parcours, dans l\u2019espoir que la Vierge Marie approuve sa d\u00e9marche. Par ailleurs, l\u2019histoire ressemble \u00e9trangement \u00e0 une l\u00e9gende du XIIe si\u00e8cle, \u00abLe Jongleur de Notre-Dame\u00bb, racont\u00e9e par Anatole France, laquelle fut ensuite adapt\u00e9e en un op\u00e9ra en 1902.<\/p>\n<p>From its first broadcast, The Little Drummer Boy became very popular, and appeared on the American charts, a success that lasted for four consecutive years, from 1958 to 1962. Subsequently, it was reissued and recorded by many famous artists, such as Bing Crosby, Johnny Cash, Johnny Mathis, Andy William, Marlene Dietrich and Stevie Wonder.
