La m\u00e9lodie quant \u00e0 elle remonterait au XVIe si\u00e8cle, et tirerait son origine de la Scandinavie. N\u00e9anmoins, celle que l\u2019on peut entendre aujourd\u2019hui ne constitue pas la m\u00e9lodie originale, celle-ci ayant \u00e9t\u00e9 modifi\u00e9e par Frederic Austin au d\u00e9but du XXe si\u00e8cle. <\/p>\n<p>Rumors about this ancient Christmas carol still circulate. Some claim that the gifts mentioned in the song &quot;The Twelve Days of Christmas&quot; may conceal clues related to the Catholic religion. Others claim that it was composed at a time when revealing such clues was forbidden. However, history cannot confirm these claims.<\/p>\n<p>The Twelve Days of Christmas has been popularized and recorded by many artists, such as Andy Williams, Bing Crosby, Harry Belafonte, Burl Ives, Perry Como, Connie Francis, Frank Sinatra, and The Glenn Miller Orchestra. In French, it is known as &quot;Les douze jours de No\u00ebl,&quot; but its sound has never been able to match that of the English version.
