Depuis les 15 derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es cependant, la c\u00e9l\u00e9bration de la F\u00eate est peu \u00e0 peu devenue plus profane, mais elle demeure encore un grand \u00e9v\u00e9nement.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>With family<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>On December 25th, family members gather in the &quot;family home&quot; to celebrate Christmas Day and Saint Stephens&#039; Day the following day.<\/p>\n<p>For dinner, the table is overflowing with food and people raise their glasses more often than not. Children and adults exchange gifts on Christmas Day itself.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The main traditions<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In practice, Christmas begins with the Advent season, 12 days before December 25th. The tree and the house are decorated during this period. Once Advent is over, adults rush to celebrate the coming Christmas by feasting in local pubs. Musicians invade the premises to perform Christmas carols and traditional ballads from the country.<\/p>\n<p>Si la messe de minuit est encore tr\u00e8s fr\u00e9quent\u00e9e, beaucoup d\u2019Irlandais n\u2019entreront \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9glise que pour cette occasion dans l\u2019ann\u00e9e. Several desserts round off this hearty meal, particularly the famous plum pudding topped with brandy cream.
