Elle ne diff\u00e8re gu\u00e8re des autres chansons pacifistes pr\u00e9c\u00e9demment \u00e9crites par Lennon, si ce n\u2019est qu\u2019au niveau des paroles, lesquelles faisaient r\u00e9f\u00e9rence cette fois-ci \u00e0 la p\u00e9riode de No\u00ebl. Rappelons que le chanteur, depuis qu\u2019il faisait carri\u00e8re en solo, avait auparavant endisqu\u00e9 plusieurs chansons de ce genre, dont notamment Imagine et Give Peace a Chance. <\/p>\n<p>However, originally, Happy Xmas was not intended to be a song, but rather a slogan, created in 1969, and used as part of an advertising campaign. Wishing to make a call for peace in the face of the Vietnam War, which had been going on for about ten years, John Lennon and his wife Yoko Ono had both created this slogan. However, it was only after crossing the borders of several countries that this advertising campaign finally became a song. Having long cherished the dream of one day popularizing a Christmas musical composition, John Lennon decided in 1971 to use this slogan to turn it into a song, which he recorded with his wife and the Harlem Choirs.<\/p>\n<p>Le succ\u00e8s ne fut toutefois pas imm\u00e9diat, et le single d\u2019abord endisqu\u00e9 aux \u00c9tats-Unis ne parvint m\u00eame pas \u00e0 se hisser au palmar\u00e8s. Lors d\u2019une seconde tentative en 1972, Happy Xmas fut lanc\u00e9 \u00e0 travers le <a href=\"https:\/\/www.blognoel.com\/en\/christmas-party-world-tour\/\">monde<\/a>, et cette fois-ci, l\u2019objectif fut atteint. La chanson devint rapidement tr\u00e8s c\u00e9l\u00e8bre, plus particuli\u00e8rement au Royaume-Uni, o\u00f9 elle obtint une seconde place au palmar\u00e8s.
