Souhaitant amasser des fonds pour venir en aide \u00e0 la population \u00e9thiopienne, il fit appel \u00e0 Bob Geldof, \u00e9galement chanteur, et tous deux compos\u00e8rent une <a href=\"https:\/\/www.blognoel.com\/en\/christmas-songs\/\">song<\/a> intitul\u00e9e Do They Know it\u2019s Christmas. Celle-ci devint rapidement un \u00e9norme succ\u00e8s, et sa popularit\u00e9 se transporta aux quatre coins de la plan\u00e8te.<\/p>\n<p>However, before achieving such fame, a band had to be formed, a task Bob Geldof carried out, who recruited all the members. This group, called Band Aid, brought together mainly Irish singers and musicians, chosen from among the most popular of the time. In addition to the co-writers, Band Aid also included Phil Collins, Boy George, Paul McCartney, Bono, Chris Cross, David Bowie, Sting, George Michael, Simon Le Bon, Duran Duran, as well as several other artists from some of the most famous bands. <\/p>\n<p>Do They Know It\u2019s Christmas, endisqu\u00e9 la m\u00eame ann\u00e9e, soit en 1984, fracassait un record, et plus d\u2019un million de copies furent vendues au cours de la premi\u00e8re semaine. Jusqu\u2019en 1997, Do They Know it\u2019s Christmas constitua le meilleur single vendu de toute l\u2019histoire.
