During the winter, a few weeks before Christmas, the Bouglione family is proud to present a fabulous Christmas show hosted by Monsieur Loyal, accompanied by a large orchestra and the Salto Dancers. From Saturday, November 19 to Sunday, December 28, 2011, the Christmas Circus sets up its big top at Parc André-Malraux in Nanterre. The regular winter circus, meanwhile, continues until March 4, 2012.
A little history:
In 1934, the four Bouglione brothers took over the management of the Cirque d'Hiver, in the 11e arrondissement of Paris, remained unoccupied. These artists, in particular Joseph Bouglione, will restore to this traditional place all the splendor and magic of yesteryear. Since then, from one thematic show to another, the Cirque Bouglione has become one of the most frequented and respected in France. Circus stars such as Zavatta, Léotard, and the Fratellini have been among the artists performing at the Cirque Bouglione.
Subsequently, Sabrina and André-Joseph Bouglione (along with their parents Joseph and Germaine) ran the traveling branch of the family circus. It is, in fact, the only traveling circus still operating in France.
The Cirque d'Hiver, including the Cirque de Noël, continues to be run by members of the Bouglione family. While retaining the essential elements of a traditional circus (many animals, trapeze artists, clowns), the younger generation of the family (1999-2000) successfully took on the challenge of giving the company a new lease of life. The acts are constantly being renewed and fascinate the public. Ticket prices are very affordable (€10 to €40).
