L\u2019id\u00e9e qu\u2019une femme mari\u00e9e puisse embrasser un autre homme que son \u00e9poux a en effet d\u00e9clench\u00e9 tout un \u00e9moi. Ces paroles portaient \u00e0 confusion et faisaient en quelque sorte r\u00e9f\u00e9rence \u00e0 l\u2019infid\u00e9lit\u00e9, ce qui \u00e9tait tout \u00e0 fait inacceptable \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9poque. Bien qu\u2019une \u00e9coute plus attentive ait permis de comprendre que le <a href=\"https:\/\/www.blognoel.com\/de\/charaktere\/weihnachtsmann\/\">Weihnachtsmann<\/a> \u00e9tait en r\u00e9alit\u00e9 le p\u00e8re de l\u2019enfant, cela n\u2019a aucunement emp\u00each\u00e9 l\u2019\u00e9glise catholique romaine de Boston de condamner la chanson, et de la faire bannir sur leurs ondes des stations radiophoniques.<\/p>\n<p>Columbia Records musste sich daher an den Kirchenrat wenden und ein Interview beantragen, zu dem der junge Boyd eingeladen wurde, um die wahre Bedeutung des Liedtextes selbst zu erkl\u00e4ren. Bei diesem Treffen wurde Jimmy Boy sogar mit der Di\u00f6zese fotografiert. Die Taktik zahlte sich aus, denn nach dem Treffen wurde das Verbot aufgehoben.<\/p>\n<p>\u201eI Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus\u201c ist seitdem zu einem beliebten Weihnachtslied geworden. Jimmy Boyds Originalaufnahme erreichte 1952 sogar Platz eins der Billboard-Charts.
