Les co-auteurs, Joseph Carlton Beal, responsable des relations publiques, et James Ross Boothe, auteur publicitaire, se sont inspir\u00e9s d\u2019une autre chanson de No\u00ebl fort populaire, Jingle Bells, ainsi que d\u2019anciennes chansons datant des ann\u00e9es 1950 pour composer celle-ci. D\u00e8s sa premi\u00e8re diffusion sur les ondes radiophoniques, Jingle Bell Rock connut un immense succ\u00e8s, et depuis, chaque ann\u00e9e, pendant la p\u00e9riode des f\u00eates, les stations lui accordent un passage r\u00e9gulier et fr\u00e9quent. <\/p>\n<p>Bobby Helms&#039; Version ist bis heute die beliebteste, obwohl Brenda Lees Version zweimal, 1964 und 1967, den ersten Platz in den Billboard-Weihnachtscharts erreichte. \u201eJingle Bell Rock\u201c wurde 1968 auch von Bill Haley And His Comets aufgenommen, der Band, die den Song \u201eRock Around The Clock\u201c popul\u00e4r machte. Diese Version, die alle f\u00fcr verloren hielten und Mitte der 90er Jahre pl\u00f6tzlich wiederentdeckt wurden, erschien jedoch nur w\u00e4hrend dieser Zeit im Radio, hatte aber nur sehr geringen Erfolg. <\/p>\n<p>Bis heute hat \u201eJingle Bell Rock\u201c nichts von seiner Popularit\u00e4t eingeb\u00fc\u00dft und z\u00e4hlt zu den meistgespielten Weihnachtsliedern. Im Laufe der Zeit haben viele K\u00fcnstler es gecovert und auf ihre eigene Art aufgenommen, darunter die Beatles, Amy Grant, Neil Diamond, Hall &amp; Oates, Billy Idol und nat\u00fcrlich S\u00e4ngerin Brenda Lee sowie einige andere mehr oder weniger bekannte S\u00e4nger.
