Elle ne diff\u00e8re gu\u00e8re des autres chansons pacifistes pr\u00e9c\u00e9demment \u00e9crites par Lennon, si ce n\u2019est qu\u2019au niveau des paroles, lesquelles faisaient r\u00e9f\u00e9rence cette fois-ci \u00e0 la p\u00e9riode de No\u00ebl. Rappelons que le chanteur, depuis qu\u2019il faisait carri\u00e8re en solo, avait auparavant endisqu\u00e9 plusieurs chansons de ce genre, dont notamment Imagine et Give Peace a Chance. <\/p>\n<p>Urspr\u00fcnglich war \u201eHappy Xmas\u201c jedoch nicht als Lied, sondern als Slogan gedacht, der 1969 kreiert und im Rahmen einer Werbekampagne eingesetzt wurde. John Lennon und seine Frau Yoko Ono hatten diesen Slogan kreiert, um angesichts des seit etwa zehn Jahren andauernden Vietnamkriegs zum Frieden aufzurufen. Doch erst nachdem sie die Grenzen mehrerer L\u00e4nder \u00fcberquert hatten, wurde aus dieser Werbekampagne schlie\u00dflich ein Lied. John Lennon, der schon lange davon tr\u00e4umte, eines Tages eine Weihnachtskomposition popul\u00e4r zu machen, beschloss 1971, diesen Slogan zu nutzen und daraus ein Lied zu machen, das er mit seiner Frau und den Harlem Choirs aufnahm.<\/p>\n<p>Le succ\u00e8s ne fut toutefois pas imm\u00e9diat, et le single d\u2019abord endisqu\u00e9 aux \u00c9tats-Unis ne parvint m\u00eame pas \u00e0 se hisser au palmar\u00e8s. Lors d\u2019une seconde tentative en 1972, Happy Xmas fut lanc\u00e9 \u00e0 travers le <a href=\"https:\/\/www.blognoel.com\/de\/weihnachtsfeier-welttournee\/\">monde<\/a>, et cette fois-ci, l\u2019objectif fut atteint. La chanson devint rapidement tr\u00e8s c\u00e9l\u00e8bre, plus particuli\u00e8rement au Royaume-Uni, o\u00f9 elle obtint une seconde place au palmar\u00e8s.
