Create custom packaging…for pennies
Depending on the size of the gift, choose a Kraft paper bag (brown paper) or a plain cardboard box. For the bag, tie the handles with pretty colored ribbons, then write a special message directly on the bag, including the recipient's name. As is, it's a classic packaging option that you can add personalized touches (prints, ribbons, Christmas decorations, pine cones, cinnamon sticks).
For the box, two layers of colored tulle to cover it and a loop with some Christmas decorations to attach to the top make a simple but original presentation.
A new finish
To enhance your bag or box, here are some suggestions that will give it an elegant and personalized appearance.
If you're comfortable "drawing" with a brush, paint Christmas designs with glossy or metallic acrylic paint.
Using stencils, you can apply holiday designs all over your paper to transform it. For a lace effect, use a paper doily and coat it (with a small sponge roller) with white or gold paint.
Give your brown paper more texture by adding raised patterns (letters, shapes) artistically arranged.
The label
A gift with a unique tag is always more appealing. Craft stores offer free templates (tree, snowflake, mitten, and more) that can be cut out and attached to the gift with a ribbon.
